Kuala Lumpur City Tour and Kuala Selangor Firefly Tour itinerary start by visit Putrajaya. Putrajaya is Malaysia Government Administrator Centre situated about 30km from the city. Established in 1995 the 20 year project to relocate the Government office expected will fully complete in 2015. Here, tourist able to see an impressive building and the bridge architectural design.
Chinese Malaysia is the second largest ethnic group in Malaysia covers about 27 percentage of the total population. Malaysian Chinese migrated to Malaysia from mainland China in few stages in 1500s until the early 1900s. They bring their expertise in architectural as what we can see in the Thean Hou Temple. The multi level Thean Hou Temple is beautifully decorated with Dragon statue.
We also will drive pass Little India in Brickfiled, Brickfield got its name from Brick industry established by Kapitan Yap Ah Loy. Later Kapitan develops the area by building the furnace for the brick industry. The Brickfield quickly became the main supplier of brick for development of Kuala Lumpur. Today Brickfleld is one of commercial area for Indian community.
After Brickfield we proceed to Kuala Lumpur old railway station and Railway Administration Building for photo stop. Both buildings built by the British in 1910 and 1907. The building has the characteristics of Moorish design.
Our Kuala Lumpur city tour continues by visit Independence Square. Here, there are few heritage buildings built by famous British architect A.C Norman and A.B Hubback. A list of the heritage building situated in independent Square Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Old City Hall Building, Session Court, High Court Building, Old Post Office Building, Textile Museum, Chartered Bank Building, Printing Office, Royal Selangor Club and Saint Mary Cathedral.
The only traditional Malay settlement in Kuala Lumpur is Kampung Baru. Situated in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, Kampung Baru area covering 250 acres prime location for development but the area look like a squatter area due the land status issue. The land has gazetted as Malay Agricultural settlement since 1901. Originally the settlement divided into 7 small villages administered by 7 head village.
Central Market Kuala Lumpur is also known as Pasar Seni or Craft Market is the perfect for souvenir hunters. Established in 1888, Central Market has been renovated a few times from an open air market selling daily grocery supply for Chinese Miner in Kuala Lumpur to fully Air Condition premises as what we see today.
